A 40-year-old Burlington woman was arrested in Davidson County and accused of working as a dental hygienist without being licensed.
The North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners with the assistance of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office investigated Tasha Flaherty, who investigators said worked at My Dentaville Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry at 4423 S. NC Highway 150 in Tyro, which is about 25 miles south of Winston-Salem.
Detectives said that Flaherty had falsely represented herself as a licensed dental hygienist to obtain the job.
On April 15, Flaherty was arrested and charged with felony practicing without a license. Her initial court appearance was set for May 22.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators ask that anyone with further information call Detective H. Swaim with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
