The Alamance County Health Department will not be offering COVID-19 vaccinations on Friday, Jan. 8 due to projected hazardous weather conditions.
A mix of rain and snow is expected to move through the area late Thursday night and into Friday morning.
The county began vaccinations for those over 75 on Wednesday, Jan. 6. For the first two days, the site experienced long lines and reached capacity in the morning. On Wednesday, 540 people were vaccinated, which is around one per minute, according to a press release.
Besides the closure for weather, the vaccine will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2550 Buckingham Rd. in Burlington.
Those coming for vaccinations are asked to enter McKinney Street from the east bound lanes of North Church Street.
Anyone with questions can call the Alamance County COVID hotline at 336-290-0361.
